A Cam, a Car, an App – GLE 43 Coupe (1 of 2)

No specific goal, just cruising along look for nice locations to get a beautiful shot. And I am just getting back into the mood to play around in Photoshop in the past couple of month, which I really fell off of for the years before that. Anyway, hope you enjoy these and yes, it’s been a while I shot and posted these on Instagram… shame on me, but I am catching up now! Promise!

An hour with Casey Neistat

A few month back when we shot that film for Mercedes-Benz in the south of France I had to the great pleasure of spending some time with and around Casey Neistat. Most people know him by now from his daily Vlogs and his viral Videos. From Aladdin on a flying carpet to Snowboarding through NYC behind a Jeep. My first contact with Caseys films was his NYC bike lane video back in 2011. And he started so much earlier with making films than that, but better lat than never. The one thing besides the whole hilarity, spectacle and all that…

Speed & Style – Racing Performance Meets Modern Luxury in Monaco

So just a couple of weeks after the last production for Mercedes-Benz in the south of France we went back last week for another round. This time we left the Airbus Helicopter out, but added a Formula 1 race-car and two Formula 1 drivers. Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg. I will be writing a more elaborate behind the scenes post soon for this production, so I am going to keep it short in this one. Same team as the last time, plus our camera assistant Lars Brauer, who rocked big time and was brought along by theblackdrone team. As before…

Air Land Water – Mercedes-Benz x Silver Arrows Marine x Airbus

This was on of the big one. It felt a little bit like an A-Team episode. Not the Film itself, but the production of it. A small team of highly trained media professionals goes out on a high stakes mission. OKOK. I might be getting a bit overexcited here, but I am very proud of what we did here. We is on the one hand Mr. Johannes Schlörb or Fuenfkommasechs, a wonderful Filmmaker and Effects Specialist and on the other hand the team of The blackdrone. Philipp Reimer and Rico Nowara. And me of course, but as for the moving…

Asphalt Dining – or how I drove 5000km through Europe to cook a beautiful dish

Last year me and my friend Chef Reuven Schockner went on a roadtrip to Malaga, Spain for an Event with Mercedes-Benz. We took the opportunity to film the whole trip and also show the dish Reuven had come up with for this trip. Inspired by everything that a trip like this lets you experience. From Düsseldorf to Paris to Bordeaux to Bilbao to Madrid to Malaga and back.

Automotive Photography – Monaco, Mercedes and two wonderful photographers.

Last year we went on a wonderful drive down Monaco for a photo production for and with Mercedes-Benz. I was on the production team and helped out as good as possible and shot some BTS footage along the way. The photographers Lisa Linke and Nate Hassler were given two Mercedes-AMG SL63s in the Championship Edition. One white, one black. Also along the ride Stellan Stephenson who was Lisa and Nate’s photo assistant on this trip.

Travel photography – To the North-cape and back (part two)

So we made it all up in one piece. An amazing trip, exhausting, beautiful and lots of great opportunities to shoot some amazing photos, but when I first heard of the idea for the trip, I thought it would make so much sense to not fly back, but to drive back down all the way through Norway this time. Luckily I was able to convince the fine people at Mercedes-Benz and even get the Hasselblad with me on board for this part of the trip. I got a H5D-40 and a couple of beautiful lenses with and I was ready…

Travel photography – To the North-cape and back (part one)

This is one of those trips. Probably a once in a lifetime thing. Especially in this shape and form. Mercedes-Benz organized another fantastic roadtrip and this one went a little beyond everything we have done so far. What I have done so far for sure. The main trip was planned to promote the the GLE and take a group of around 22 Journalists, Bloggers, Instagramers from Kitzbühel in Austria to the North-cape. an at least 4000km Journey. The group was a fantastic mix of people from all over the world. Russia to South Africa, Italy, France and so on.

Travel photography – #MBRT15 road trip.

It was that time of year again and I was, for the first time, on my way to Alabama. Birmingham, Alabama to be precise. To meet up with a group of Bloggers, journalists, photographers and videographers to drive all the way up to New York City and the New York Autoshow. We would be “guarding” the brand new GLE from A to B and produce some beautiful work along the way. As so often on group trips like this time will be limited, so you can’t go totally bonkers and should be thoughtful of the others. Also the time table…

Car photography – Split decisions #mbrt15

I have written a lot about road-trips and I have been on many and a few weeks ago it was time to hit the road. This time with Mercedes-Benz again. “Guarding” the new GLE from its birthplace in Tuscaloosa, Alabama to New York City. This post is kind of a teaser. Seven photos, six conceptual, one typical. I had a great plan. I also misjudged the trips timing, by a lot. Besides the split photos I had planned another type of shot. And it does only look good as a full set, which did not happen. Ah well. You win…

Editorial – AMG GT (part one of two)

Long time no see reader! after some major problems with my old hoster and then so weird big problems with the new one I am finally back with all systems running. So for those who also follow me on my Instagram channel it might not come as a surprise, but a few weeks back I had the pleasure of being on a trip WITH Mercedes-Benz for Heldth with the new Mercedes-AMG GT.

Fashion Editorial – Hugo Boss x Mercedes-Benz (part two of two)

Here we go with the second part of the Shoot in Paris with Hugo Boss and Mercedes-Benz. If you missed part one just follow this link. Besides the rest of the car only photos I also added the two test shots I did with a strobe when we were under that bridge. Not bad, but as I mentioned before it really didn’t fit the look and feel of the rest of the story. Enjoy and have a great day everyone!

Fashion Editorial – Hugo Boss x Mercedes-Benz (part one of two)

You remember my little trip to Paris a few weeks back with Mercedes-Benz and Hugo Boss, right?! Well you just got a few small glimpses so far and maybe some of the shots on their Facebook Pages. Here is my selection now finally. I’m going to split these in half and make two blog posts out of it, as I have quite a big selection. Plus I will post some of the car only shots mixed in. This was quite a small production and I didn’t even bring a dedicated assistant, so combined with the weather we were facing in…

Mercedes-Benz V-Class x Fuji Instax

Take V-Class, add three guys, some photo gear, three small kegs of beer (DON’T DRINK AND DRIVE) and one idea. The idea was to take the V-Class put a mobile photo-studio in it and offer people free beer in exchange for a portrait in the car. Let them tell us their first impressions of this new model and just have a good time. So far, so good. On our way from Hamburg to Sylt we put on the stickers we had made for the occasion and decided to head out directly to Sylt instead of stopping somewhere in between and…

Mercedes-Benz Instagram Shootout NYC / LA

MBShootout NYC / LA The Mercedes-Benz Instagram Shootout in New York and Los Angeles was a fantastic experience, it was the longest of all the Shootouts so far and took place in two cities. New York City and Los Angeles. Our New York Team consisted of Mario-Roman Lambrecht, Joseph Linaschke, our local Andrew Link and me. In LA it was Mario, Joseph and me again plus our locals Royce Rumsey, Richard Thompson and Zach Benge. I cannot say it often enough how honored and thankful I am to have worked with this extremely talented and kind group of people. What…

Car Photography – Mercedes-Benz Instagram Shootout Kitzbühel

You probably remember the Instagram Shootout we did with Mercedes-Benz at the IAA in Frankfurt back in September. This week we went on a another shootout and changed a few things up. First of all we did a three day tour to Kitzbühel in Austria. Secondly there was no prize or so to win so it was “just” about having fun and creating great work. The third point was that we had two brand new Mercedes-Benz GLAs with us, driven by Mercedes-Benz drivers as the car is not yet open to the press and public. Lastly we had three great…

Mercedes-Benz Instagram Shootout – I need you!

The night is over and we had a blast. Always great to be put into these situations that are just different. We produced some fantastic photos and got some fantastic responses. Thanks to those who supported me with their likes already and all the shout outs. In case you missed it or didn’t have time to head over to the Mercedes-Benz Instagram account I have embedded all my photos below. I appreciate it a lot and if you like keep on sharing this post.

A Night on the IAA – Mercedes-Benz Instagram Shootout

Some of you will remember the fantastic night that some assorted car bloggers and I spent in the Mercedes-Benz Museum in Stuttgart back in August 2012. For those who have I have put together a collection of photos and the video below or just follow the first link.  For this coming sunday night they have come up with a bit different approach! Me and three other photographers will have the whole Mercedes-Benz “booth” on the IAA in Frankfurt to ourselves. Not only that, but we will have a Shootout between the four of us. Between 7pm on sunday and 7am…

The 2014 Mercedes-Benz S-Class

This time it was Toronto and we had the pleasure of driving the new S-Class. Our HQ was a beautiful Hotel in the middle of Toronto, an absolutely fabulous location and hotel to get to know the city a little bit and roam the streets for locations to shoot and test the car. Also the fantastic dinner on our first night with some very special entertainment by Matt Dusk just pumped us up to the right level. Matt dusk is a real entertainer. I just wished we had clubs like this still around. You know like in the old days,…

Mille Miglia 2013. Part three of three. actually of four.

So by now you might have guessed that I had a blast with the Mercedes-Benz Classic team at the Mille Miglia. So lets talk about a few things from a production standpoint. As so often I had planned to shoot photos and video together. I had my gear packed accordingly and also brought my brand new Manfrotto FigRig which I fell in love with! My Monopod plus most of my Nikon gear plus an external 7″ HDMI Monitor for shooting Video. Of course time was a big issue, in a rally like this no one will wait for you, no…
