An hour with Casey Neistat

A few month back when we shot that film for Mercedes-Benz in the south of France I had to the great pleasure of spending some time with and around Casey Neistat. Most people know him by now from his daily Vlogs and his viral Videos. From Aladdin on a flying carpet to Snowboarding through NYC behind a Jeep. My first contact with Caseys films was his NYC bike lane video back in 2011. And he started so much earlier with making films than that, but better lat than never. The one thing besides the whole hilarity, spectacle and all that…

Porsche Transaxle panoramas – plus a special guest

If you remember me and my buddies Johannes and Fabian spend two days down in Stuttgart at the Porsche Museum and had the unique opportunity to get in the so called “Holy Halls” of Porsche a special feature. I have the video embedded below. It is in german though, still worth a watch for some stuff you certainly have never seen before. As for the panoramic shots of the Porsches, the location just inspired the whole thing to be honest. Also there are a lot more photos coming soon! I promise. Enjoy for now and say safe everyone. Teymur.

Speed & Style – Racing Performance Meets Modern Luxury in Monaco

So just a couple of weeks after the last production for Mercedes-Benz in the south of France we went back last week for another round. This time we left the Airbus Helicopter out, but added a Formula 1 race-car and two Formula 1 drivers. Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg. I will be writing a more elaborate behind the scenes post soon for this production, so I am going to keep it short in this one. Same team as the last time, plus our camera assistant Lars Brauer, who rocked big time and was brought along by theblackdrone team. As before…

Air Land Water – Mercedes-Benz x Silver Arrows Marine x Airbus

This was on of the big one. It felt a little bit like an A-Team episode. Not the Film itself, but the production of it. A small team of highly trained media professionals goes out on a high stakes mission. OKOK. I might be getting a bit overexcited here, but I am very proud of what we did here. We is on the one hand Mr. Johannes Schlörb or Fuenfkommasechs, a wonderful Filmmaker and Effects Specialist and on the other hand the team of The blackdrone. Philipp Reimer and Rico Nowara. And me of course, but as for the moving…

Asphalt Dining – or how I drove 5000km through Europe to cook a beautiful dish

Last year me and my friend Chef Reuven Schockner went on a roadtrip to Malaga, Spain for an Event with Mercedes-Benz. We took the opportunity to film the whole trip and also show the dish Reuven had come up with for this trip. Inspired by everything that a trip like this lets you experience. From Düsseldorf to Paris to Bordeaux to Bilbao to Madrid to Malaga and back.

Olga in Space

From that very efficient and fun day last year with the wonderful Olga Kobzar. You can find the first post here. I had the idea for this the second I saw the location. I wasn’t sure how far I wanted to take the editing, but I found a good measure for my first step away from Lightroom only editing after a long long time. Obviously apart from skin retouching every now and then. Really a direction I feel very good about. I will keep exploring. get back to telling more stories, even small made up ones. more to come soon.

Travel Photography – Tokyo (Part 3)

So i have written about my expectations before I got to Tokyo, I have written about my experience in Tokyo and what I took away from it. That leaves me with what I am looking for next time I get to Tokyo/Japan, because I really really need to get back there. If you haven’t guessed yet, I have really become a huge Tokyo fan. Number one on my list is for sure the Studio Ghibli Museum. A shame I missed it the first time around, hopefully I wont next time. Then the two most important point for me will be…

Model Photography – Olga

Last year, just by chance I stumbled over a few photo sets of Olga and knew that I wanted to work with here at some point. As luck seemed to be on my side Olga was going to be kind of close by for a photo workshop and we were able to arrange a shoot together. I am very happy with the results and I hope you will be too. Here the first set we shot. I want to talk more about photography with you guys and anyone who is interested. Communicate my process, talk about the technical side, gear, post processing…

Travel Photography – Tokyo (Part 2)

If you missed the first part of this Tokyo series of three you should check it out here —> Travel Photography – Tokyo (Part 1). As I was saying before, Japan really surprised me. And some of the things people normally would say are cliches hit the nail right on the head. Probably true with quite some of cliches, for so many other things too. Interestingly enough Tokyo is the cleanest Metropolis I have seen so far and I am not too sure how they pull it off. Especially when you compare it to cities like Berlin, Paris and New…

Automotive Photography – Monaco, Mercedes and two wonderful photographers.

Last year we went on a wonderful drive down Monaco for a photo production for and with Mercedes-Benz. I was on the production team and helped out as good as possible and shot some BTS footage along the way. The photographers Lisa Linke and Nate Hassler were given two Mercedes-AMG SL63s in the Championship Edition. One white, one black. Also along the ride Stellan Stephenson who was Lisa and Nate’s photo assistant on this trip.

Travel Photography – Tokyo (Part 1)

Not sure where to start. This trip was very special in more than one way. Tokyo, as is Hong Kong, has been on my bucket list for a long long time. And when we started looking into where to go for a vacation it was between Tokyo and Hong Kong. We decided on Tokyo in the end because of a couple of reasons. All of them gut decisions of course. As so many other people I got interested in, specifically, Chinese and Japanese culture through movies. From classic Hong Kong films to early Anime films and TV series. My first…

Travel photography – To the North-cape and back (part two)

So we made it all up in one piece. An amazing trip, exhausting, beautiful and lots of great opportunities to shoot some amazing photos, but when I first heard of the idea for the trip, I thought it would make so much sense to not fly back, but to drive back down all the way through Norway this time. Luckily I was able to convince the fine people at Mercedes-Benz and even get the Hasselblad with me on board for this part of the trip. I got a H5D-40 and a couple of beautiful lenses with and I was ready…

Travel photography – To the North-cape and back (part one)

This is one of those trips. Probably a once in a lifetime thing. Especially in this shape and form. Mercedes-Benz organized another fantastic roadtrip and this one went a little beyond everything we have done so far. What I have done so far for sure. The main trip was planned to promote the the GLE and take a group of around 22 Journalists, Bloggers, Instagramers from Kitzbühel in Austria to the North-cape. an at least 4000km Journey. The group was a fantastic mix of people from all over the world. Russia to South Africa, Italy, France and so on.

Model Photography – Leila rough ‘n tough

It has been some time and you are about to get hit hard! Leila Lowfire is back and we’re going to rock your world. There is a lot of stuff coming up in the next few weeks, too. I was home for a while now and had time to work through a lot of stuff that fell somewhat behind. From a lot more model work to road trips, travel work, Hasselblads and so on. You are in for a ride, but for now enjoy the photos I took of Leila last year. Set three of five that I have posted here….

Model Photography – VerjinyaLee

Back when I was in NYC for the MBRT15 Roadtrip I wanted to at least do one model shoot and was very lucky to have VerjinyaLee recommended to me. What a fun shoot and I think it shows. I am very happy with the results, especially as we only shot for quite a short amount of time. Always so much fun to create beautiful work with great people. Check out her portfolio over at http://verjinyalee.tumblr.com and let me know what you think.

Travel photography – #MBRT15 road trip.

It was that time of year again and I was, for the first time, on my way to Alabama. Birmingham, Alabama to be precise. To meet up with a group of Bloggers, journalists, photographers and videographers to drive all the way up to New York City and the New York Autoshow. We would be “guarding” the brand new GLE from A to B and produce some beautiful work along the way. As so often on group trips like this time will be limited, so you can’t go totally bonkers and should be thoughtful of the others. Also the time table…

Car photography – Split decisions #mbrt15

I have written a lot about road-trips and I have been on many and a few weeks ago it was time to hit the road. This time with Mercedes-Benz again. “Guarding” the new GLE from its birthplace in Tuscaloosa, Alabama to New York City. This post is kind of a teaser. Seven photos, six conceptual, one typical. I had a great plan. I also misjudged the trips timing, by a lot. Besides the split photos I had planned another type of shot. And it does only look good as a full set, which did not happen. Ah well. You win…
