Take V-Class, add three guys, some photo gear, three small kegs of beer (DON’T DRINK AND DRIVE) and one idea. The idea was to take the V-Class put a mobile photo-studio in it and offer people free beer in exchange for a portrait in the car. Let them tell us their first impressions of this new model and just have a good time. So far, so good. On our way from Hamburg to Sylt we put on the stickers we had made for the occasion and decided to head out directly to Sylt instead of stopping somewhere in between and get people there. Problem though was… the weather. The weather was so bad that there were barely people on the street and the ones that were out and about were in a rush to get out of the rain. Well… good idea, bad luck. So we are going to give this a try in summer again.
Another fun thing I had planned for the trip was to leave all my regular gear at home and only take my new Fuji Instax that Fuji Germany just had sent me and a loaner Fuji XE-1. Ok ok, One piece of gear that is often with me when I am on the road was my Elinchrom Ranger and a strip light for the in car studio. So everything that is coming up is either shot on the XE-1 or the Instax 90 or my 210, which still seems to be one of my most favorite cameras I own.
Fabian shot a lot with the XE-1 so I concentrated more on the Instax 90 at first, but shot the V-Class with the XE-1 at a little stop on the way to the Hotel. Elinchrom Skyport on it for the Ranger, Mr Axel “bigblogg” Griesinger as a VAL and Fabian helping me with shielding the camera from the constant and quite heavy rain and wind.
We had a lot of fun and as so often the Instax cameras stole the show. People react to it instantly and I have only had very positive reactions.
Well well well… enjoy dear party people.
