Car Photography – Nissan GTR – Godzilla (part one of four)

Nissan GTR R35

A few weeks ago, right after the 24 hour race at the Nürburgring Nissan Germany was so kind to give me a Nissan GTR R35 for a couple of days. You can imagine my excitement as the GTR is one of my two most favorite modern cars.

So a lot of things went through my mind and with a bunch of friends we started brainstorming what we could do and wanted actually to film a lot. Came up with ideas and dismissed them again. Well, as the timing was a bit too close we ended up being one or two people short of a crew that could properly film what we wanted to do, so we decided on going do a couple of photoshoots instead.

We hadn’t planned to much ahead for those either, but I think the results are very nice and I am looking forward to your reactions to them. I will split the photos into four posts, so it wont get too much.

4 sets of photos of this amazing machine. I have driven quite some amazing cars over the years, but never something like the GTR. This car performs so differently from what you are used to, that it will scare you a bit and keep you from enjoying its full potential. I really wish I could drive it on the racetrack for a day or two.

I also wouldn’t mind shooting a few more photos of it, as I have some great new locations for it and it would be nice shooting the car while its moving, but I wasn’t sure if I was allowed to let someone else drive, so we left that part be… for now.

As for this first set of photos we got quite lucky with the location and the weather for the most part. The location we just found by luck as we driving around the greater Cologne area and there it was, just in time before the heavy rain started.

Enjoy and let me know what you think!

Teymur.

  1. Hello,
I found your website via the Scott Kelby Photowalk 2011.
I realy like the pics of the Nissan, it is a perfect contrast between the color of the car and the weather and the location.

I really liked your pics from the oldtimer gp, I was there too, but I am not that fast in putting the pics online.

    Cheers
    Dirk
