so we met up yesterday for the first photowalk my friend dominik from lostfocus.de and I organized here in beautiful rainy Cologne.we announced it on a few different plattforms and also here on my blog.
as we were aproaching the 6. of december I really got a bit worried about the bad weather we have right now here in cologne, but finally we were really lucky! so people arrived all around 1pm and we introduced ourselves (well at least thosewho didn’t knew each other) and warmed up with coffe and a few first shots. at that moment it really started to rain hard and we decided to skip the first part of our route in favor of taking the subway straight to the central station and the cologne cathedral. lucky us! besides the fun of public transport we also arrived exactly hen the rain just stopped.
so we went on our way and had a blast. it was great meeting the new and old faces, seeing how people approach their photography and just enjoy hanging out and photowalking.
here is our route:
a little strobist action in a tunnel we passed by was alot of fun too just before we went for lunch!
after that we went onto a tower on the right side of the rhine with a wonderful view over cologne. especially as it was getting darker and darker at that point.
we walked back to the city over the deutzer bridge onto two of colognes nicest christmas markets and ended our quite long, but wonderful day there.
and one very awesome thing about our photo walk was that frederick van johnson from adobe systems and product manager of adobe lightroom was so kind to give us three boxes of adobe lightroom 2 to raffle between our participants. and they were extremly happy about that fact!
we also want to thank jonathan wisler of blurb for the cupon code they had ready for our group.
and also flickr for their schwagbag they sent us!
